Irish Youth Circus Gathering
Cloughjordan Circus Club are delighted to be the instigator and host of the now annual Irish Youth Circus Gathering. The event brings together young people with a shared interest in circus from Youth Circus Organisations from all over the island of Ireland.
Young people take part from Derry, Galway, Dublin, Belfast, Cork and of course Tipperary in a shared weekend full of circus workshops, learning and fun.
The whole community of Cloughjordan welcomes our guests. As well as a packed circus workshop programme, social events include a BBQ, board games night, and a Saturday night cabaret performance in St Kieran’s Hall.
The event is made possible with workshops and facilitators from Cloughjordan Circus Club and all participating groups including:
Dublin Circus Project; Circusful, Belfast; Galway Community Circus; In Your Space Circus and Cork Circus Factory.
IRISH YOUTH CIRCUS GATHERING 2023
We are delighted to announce that the Irish Youth Circus Gathering is back IN PERSON once again in November 2023.
OUTREACH PROGRAMME
Our Gathering Outreach Programme will run on Wednesday 8th to Friday 10th November. Schools and youth clubs will visit St. Kieran’s Hall in Cloughjordan to take part in a fun packed circus workshop programme.
In 2023 the groups that will take part include: Dunkerrin National School, Rathcabbin National School, Moneygall National School, Kilruane National School, and Borrisokane Community College.
WEEKEND PROGRAMME NOVEMBER 10th – 12th 2023
We will be welcoming young participants as well as youth circus facilitators to Cloughjordan from Circusful (Belfast), In Your Space Circus (Derry), Galway Community Circus, Cork Circus Factory and Dublin Circus Project. They will be joined by members of Cloughjordan Circus Club for a fun packed weekend of circus workshops, social events and performances. There will also be a perfomance by special guest Grant Goldie at the Cabaret.
What to expect if you are coming to the gathering?
A full programme of Circus workshops to choose from throughout the day!
Choose from: Tableslide, Juggling, Unicycle, Acrobalance, Chair Stack, Funambulism (that’s wire walking with a long pole!), Performance, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

Circus Cabaret show on Saturday 11th November at 5:30 PM in St. Kieran’s Hall featuring the amazing guest tutor Grant Goldie alongside acts from all the visiting tutors. And of course an amazing finale… the now traditional ALL IRELAND HUMAN PYRAMID!
Saturday Night Social Evening
Social evening, barbeque, and board games in Podumna. There might even be some hot chocolate on offer!

YOUTH GATHERING 2023
In 2023 we had our biggest Gathering event yet, once again impressively attended by students and tutors from Cork, Dublin, Galway, Derry and Belfast, along with the home Cloughjordan contingent. This year the group stayed all together at a nearby glamping facility, and Outreach was done with 5 local schools, bringing circus to different groups every year.
